Running through the speed dating exercise I sometimes do, we tried a variant.
We had a meeting with leaders across several teams that integrates together. So we went through the usual job summary to see if people had a similar focus and understanding of their roles:
Then we did the same exercise to see what they provided to reach other, rather than the teams.
After that we had a short conversation about whether their teams would agree with their summaries.
Finally we looked at what they were focusing on(their top three things) and compared what they wanted to achieve to where they were spending their time. It was interesting to discuss where people were spending their time and how well (or not) it aligned to their own goals and the desire to support their teams.
Gives it a try in your next gathering and set if it leads to any useful learning.
